URBANA — A Champaign guy who had roughly a half-gram of rebellion available earlier this year has been sentenced to 4 1 / 2 years.
Judge Roger Webber agreed to urge Samuel Reddick, 39, whose last known address was at a hotel room in West Anthony Drive, for medication therapy while in jail.
Reddick pleaded guilty Thursday to delivery or manufacture of approximately 13 g of heroin, admitting he had the drugs in his hotel room on Jan. 20 as members of the Champaign County Street Crimes Task Force did a court-authorized search of the space.
Assistant State’s Attorney Toby Ortega stated police reports suggest Reddick was staying there with his wife and four kids.
Ortega stated Reddick had previous convictions for delivery of controlled substance and delivery of cannabis.
Webber agreed to let Reddick to remain free until Nov. 2, if he would turn himself in to begin his prison sentence.
He was also ordered to pay roughly $1,200 in fines and court charges.
